Aiza

Born in Montreal to Burundian immigrants, Aiza is a Toronto-based bilingual singer, songwriter and a pop icon in the making. Her music is a fresh blend of Afro-Pop and R&B while her live performances abound with explosive, positive energy. Her signature empowering and playful lyrics spark comparisons to other badass trailblazing women such as Lizzo and Janelle Monáe.

Aiza has performed with musical heavyweight Divinity Roxx (Beyoncé’s former musical director and bassist), written music with multi-platinum, Latin Grammy nominated producer Maki Vaéz, as well as LA-based producer Mario Marchetti, whose credits include Demi Lovato’s Billboard Top 10 single “Neon Lights.” Aiza’s music has been placed on numerous TV series including Netflix’s Tuca & Bertie and Selling Tampa as well as CBC’s Kim’s Convenience.

Alongside her music career, Aiza is the executive producer and host of her own original talk-show series for CBC titled Real Blackity Talk. She plays the role of superhero Sierra Ectoplex on Netflix’s original series Jupiter’s Legacy, Maya Bronte on the CBC/Netflix sitcom Workin’ Moms, and is the voice of Jazzy on CBC Kids' animated series Jeremy & Jazzy.
